Required Yosemite Equipment List
Your safety and your comfort depend on your being fully equipped.
Toiletries: Travel size shampoo, deodorant, soap, etc. must be packed in 1 quart sized zip-lock bag so they can be easily stored in the bear box once we arrive at camp.
Medications: Must be checked in with Mrs. Schedler before leaving St. Paul’s. Prescription medication must be in original labeled container from the pharmacy.
Clothing: Pack in a duffel or gym bag. No Suitcases, please.
- Shoes/Boots: 2 pairs (one pair will get wet) of sturdy footwear are needed. We will do some hiking and comfortable, waterproof boots are strongly encouraged.
- Flip-flop shoes for shower use.
- Rain poncho: We need to be prepared for rainy or damp weather.
- Warm gloves
- Knit or fleece “beanie” cap
- Hat with a brim
- 5 days worth of clothes (including shorts and long pants)
- 10 pairs of socks
- Sweatshirt in addition to your new Yosemite sweatshirt
- Heavy jacket
- Sleepwear
Daytime temperatures will range between the 40°s and 70°s.
Expect nighttime temperatures in the 30°s.
Personal Gear
- Sleeping Bag (rated for 30° F)
- Sleeping Pad: foam rubber or small inflatable mattress (no large air mattresses, please)
- Pillow
- Towel: for shower use
- Sunglasses
- Flashlight
- Chapstick
- Sunscreen
- Camera
- Day Pack/Book Bag: For daily use to carry lunch, camera, water, jacket, etc.
- Folding camp chair
